MAIL TO MIKE

Mike plays the role of Frank in Melissa James Gibson's very funny, moving, strange play which has been adapted by director Tom Repetto.  The characters speak in unison, repeat phrases obsessively, deliver lines supine on the floor, break up sentences illogically, or mumble sotto voce.  Its disjointed language makes it a challenge.

The three main characters are neighbors in a door-to-door, crowded studio apartment building.  Babette is working on an "Outbursts Text".  Theo, whose wife recently left him, is trying to compose the score for an amusement park ride, Thrill-o-rama.  Meanwhile, Frank (Mike) has set his sights on becoming an auctioneer, practicing tongue-twisters and the like. 

They ARE losers.  The three characters are so disconnected from reality that they fail to make any progress in their careers or their personal lives. 

Full of hilarious moments, most of the action happens in the narrow apartment corridor.  The three have nothing much to do except knock on each other's doors, gossip, accuse each other and engage in witty word-play games.
